Macpac intends to support growers’ 2024 season with their new packaging solutions. These sustainable and functional solutions cater to mail-order growers and nurseries, facilitating the secure delivery of seeds, saplings, or larger, more established plants.
Macpac provides plug plant and seed tray packs designed for mail-order businesses, available in various sizes to optimize volume and minimize mailing costs. Developed in collaboration with a major mail-order plant supplier, the user-friendly Plantpac packs offer easy assembly, ensuring protection and ventilation for plants during transit and display. The containers feature a straightforward locking mechanism for secure closure, even with gloves.
Macpac’s Ready-to-Post packs are specifically crafted for letterbox delivery, allowing plug plants to be sent at a large letter pack rate without the need for extra packaging. This design reduces weight, costs, and waste. The packs are easy to use, with growers placing plug plants into the cavities, closing the pack, and securing it with closure tabs. Properly closed packs fit within Royal Mail’s large letter postal criteria.
The plug plant Clam Packs from Macpac feature a self-locking mechanism, streamlining the packing process while enhancing plant protection and presentation. Macpac offers 28 stock clam pack variations with configurations ranging from 1 x 15cm plug pots to 12 x 3cm plug pots.
Made from up to 90% recycled rPET, the Plantpac range is fully recyclable through kerbside collection or council recycling centers. The Jazz rPET material is easily detectable by optical sorting systems, enabling efficient recovery and recycling, diverting waste from landfills.
Jazz rPET provides a commercially viable alternative to black and other colors when opaque packaging is necessary, offering flexibility to the horticultural industry. All Plantpac products can be manufactured in clear rPET for high-clarity foliage display and personalized with customer logos.
